It's a sequel, here we go again

Nuance forgotten, explosions ramped up to eleven

As I'm confined to my luxury padded cell

Covid 2: this time is personal (it really feels personal)


As that cursed second line joins the test

McClane said it best in his Die Hard 2 vest

"How can the same thing happen to the same guy twice?"

Well if you will socialise you now pay the price


The Terminator gave warning he'd be back

And this virus seems to have a machine precision knack

Of knowing when I'm about to go away, to say

"No way, today just ain't your day!"


Knowing rules of sequels I must get ripped and fight back

Lift my mind from its sleeping sad sack

Stare my foe down and give it my pitch

"Get away from me you bitch!"


But given the nemesis I face is a virus

All windmills chucked are doomed to miss

Nevertheless, punches I throw in a futile bid

To rid me of this big boss vid


And yet one day I know I'll be free

Blissfully unaware that this story is actually a trilogy

For now take the simple pleasure of having my health

"A sequel is an admission you've been reduced to imitating yourself"

Don Marquis' metre busting quote this poem endeth
