And once more the magical time of year had come

For the creatures of the night to get out and have some fun

Preparations made for their packed lunch

Hungarian Goulash, Ice cream and a pack of Monster Munch

The time of year where they make only themselves screech

Off to make merry chaos at Blackpool Pleasure beach

The coach journey long, slow and tedious

The vampires playing the cool kids on the back seats of the bus

On arrival the creatures all run amok

Necromancers sugar rushing on candy floss and rock

Wary Skeletons worried about meeting their maker

If they were to board the Bone Shaker

Unimpressed Ghosts show their disdain and refrain

From the ride they know simply as ‘a train’

The Draugr not up for the Valhalla ride

Reasoning they’ve already seen enough of that side

The big fluffy cuddly Teddy his goal

Jason Vorhees the master of whack-a-mole

Never ones to avoid the dangers of standing up on The Grand National ride

The Headless Horsemen take it all in their horsey stride

Wearing a seatbelt to avoid getting any scars

Things that go bump in the night bumping dodgem cars

Candyman looking for big prizes, trying his luck

Proving a dab hook hand on hook a duck

A Zombie declared ‘too short’ for a ride is displeased

As its only because his legs are missing below the knees

Furniture moves around and floorboards sway

For the Poltergeist in the fun house a bus man’s holiday

Two Cadavers atop the big one declare; “isn’t this high?”

“Not really” answers a random Phantom floating by

Sneaky Nymphs take a great deal of fun

Jumping out on those who think the log flume is done

Pennywise acting like a grouch

Due to all the watercannons fired at his mouth

Nosferatu, his disappointment he cannot hide

At his nonappearance on the photo experience of his ride

The Mummy takes a head count (Dracula) of our spirits

To ensure they don’t exceed the day out time limits

And on the coach returning from great day unfurled

The living dead asleep and dead to the world
